The AKC publishes numerous brochures and pamphlets on varying aspects of canine care and activities, encouraging responsible dog ownership, attention to good health care, and having fun with dogs. As veterinary professionals and AKC agree, an essential component of responsible dog ownership is a good relationship with a qualified veterinarian. Practitioners may obtain multiple copies of many of these materials without charge, for use in waiting rooms or to hand out to clients. The most popular items are:
